Stressed Out and Peaceful

Building a Blog Day 1

Posted by Dane

Day 1
1. Decide what Niche your blog will be about.
  • Tighter Niches are Better: (Big Tits is better than Tits, Asian Tranny is better than Tranny).
  • Avoid Saturated Niches: It will be a lot harder to rise above the noise with another Teen or Babe blog than with a Foot Fetish or Pregnant blog.
2. Detrmine your Main Categories and Your Keywords.
I'm not going to go real deeply into this, but as a general idea you want to go with less competitive keywords at first. You can add more competitive keywords in later when you have built up your content and links.
  • 4-8 Main Categories. These should be major keywords that represent "Sub-Niches" or "Areas" within your niche. Should probably be 2-3 word phrases.
  • 6-10 Keywords for each Main Category. Do not pick the keywords with the most searches. I know it's tempting, but trust me, don't do it. Pick, instead, those with less competing pages in the index at Google. You will get more traffic at first from top ten placements with terms that get fewer searches than with page 3 and 4 rankings for terms with more traffic. You'll be able to add these later and do better with them. These should be 3+ word phrases.
  • If you don't have at least 50 Keyword Phrases, add another Main Category or add extra keyword phrases to some of your Main Categories until you do.
3. List your Main Categories and Keywords in an easy to follow format.
List them with each Keyword Phrase listed under the Main Category it relates to. This will enable you to organize your blog and to quickly identify topics you need to add posts on.

Tomorrow we'll set up our blogs.

Finding RSS Feeds and Finding Holes In RSS Feeds

Posted by Dane

    Hey Kids,

This entry is about finding RSS Feeds and what's better finding Holes in RSS Feed Coverage that you can exploit.

Now we all know about going to Technorati's search, but that's boring. Old hat. Yesterday's news.

Clusty

Here's something fresh. Clusty is a meta search engine with a twist. It's called clustering. Essentially it uses the same basic technology Google uses for it's adsense program LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing to group, or "cluster" search terms into meaningful related hierarchies. If that is all greek to you then think of it this way; It figures out what related keywords might be sub keywords of your primary keywords. Now that's pretty neat all in and of itself, but what's really cool is that clusty also has a Search link that lets you limit your search to blogs containing your keywords.

Why is that important? Well, Kinder, if you can find blogs that are related to your keywords, you can also find 1) rss feeds related to your keywords. I'll leave it to you to figure out what to do with them for now, but I'll go over a couple options in another post soon. and 2) You can also find Comment Forms that allow you to leave your link on a highly relevant keyword targeted page.

There is software out now that allows you to spam you comments all over the blogosphere, but after looking it over, I'm going to recomend you pass. In the first place it is non targeted. It posts your comment to any blog in it's database. Links to your anal sex pages from a cooking or needle point blog will not do you any good and may cause you some problems especially if you are not hosting your own blog. Secondly the comments it leaves are obvious spam. You will do much much better to find ONE highly targeted relevant bvlog and leave an individual relevant message that shows you actually saw the blog than with 100 or 1000 untargeted obvious spam posts.

So fire up clusty, find some related blogs and start making a list of feed URI's and leaving welcomed comments with your fellow bloggers and earning valuable links back to your site.

MSN

msn.com has added a new search query protocol. "feed:" using this protocol causes the search engine to only return actual rss feeds. Not sites with rss feeds, but the feed page itself. Again, you can grab these URI's and start making a list of them for later use, but what you can also doo is hunt for holes.

Let me establish some facts here.
1) You are a believer. You understand that one of the best things you can do for your site, SE wise, is to publish a feed.
2) You basically know how to publish a feed, at the very least through the use of a blog.

OK, now given that wouldn't you rather publish a feed that had 100, 300, 600 feeds in competition than one that had a few thousand? Yeah, I thought so. So what you do is in the MSN search box type [ feed: keyword ]. This will return the feeds related to that keyword.

Now you can look through the feeds MSN knows about (and MSN LOVES feeds) for those with less competition, and target them.

Just for instance.
feed: tits
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=feed%3A+tits&FORM=QBRE
returns 6832 results

whereas
feed: "big tits"
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=feed%3A+%22big+tits%22&FORM=QBRE
returns 661 results

Which would you rather be targeting?

So go grab some more feed URIs and hunt down some profitable feed holes for yourselves.

P.S.
If you use clusty first, you can then check all of the related keywords it gives you for the best targets in MSN.

Aren’t you making sales on your free sites?

Posted by RicardoB

Aren’t you making sales on your free sites?

If you aren’t this may be the reason: A common newbie thinking error:

When on the boards, or talking with starting webmasters I often hear from them they want to make clean sites which cater to the surfer as much as possible, so they gain bookmarks and traffic builds up.

Later on when talking to these webmasters again, 99% of them are quite disillusioned and hardly make any sales at all.

Then when I take a look at their sites I find a haven of free porn, hardly any advertisements at all, and wonder why would a surfer hitting a site like this buy anything at all?

When you build a free site being a TGP, Link list, or any other type of free site keep in mind that basically you are building a virtual brochure intended to sell the sponsors you are using.

This means you don’t give away the whole enchilada but use teasers and matching ads to lure the surfer in and make him/her buy your product be it a membership or a set of XXX DVD’s.

Less content and more ads are in such the way to go.

And don’t overdo it! Keep track of your content; make sure it’s not of to high quality.

When building pages to sell the rule I live by is that the banners should always look better then the content. In other words never try to outperform your sponsor with your content.

Also keep a good eye on your sales text and text links. When in doubt on how to proceed I usually get me a catalogue of the largest adult mail order companies and see what they write to push their DVD’s and stuff, With just a little tweaking most of it applies to most sponsors and works much better then inventing the text yourself. Why use your own stuff(Unless you rock at sales text off course J ), when you can use the material written by experts on the subject. Especially when you have to use a foreign language it is a pretty safe route to go.

Trade sites (TGP’s that skim, CJ & CJ2 sites) are extreme variants on the above so for the content(The galleries that traffic gets skimmed of) applies the same as stated above with the addition that the skimming and other traffic trade tricks in the arsenal are also intended to help make your clean site more attractive, and here we are at the core of the problem, this is where the thinking error occurred: While under the impression that the overdose of free porn has to bring the bookmark in, it is the trade sites job to get them ready to bookmark, because coming from a site that sends them somewhere else half of the time they will gladly bookmark your site that doesn’t.

When on this subject I often hear the argument: I don’t want pissed of surfers on my sites I want happy ones! Errrrrrrrrrrr…..Wrong!!! You do want pissed off surfers, so you can let your site do its thing and turn them into happy ones. Happy members that is J

The order is simply: Horny surfer hits trade site, becomes frustrated surfer, hits your clean site, bookmarks your site and becomes a horny surfer again, and a chance for you to make a sale, but they will also remember what site made them happy after their “ordeal”, and come back, so they become more chances for a sale.

That’s just the way it works if you want high traffic and good sales on your site.

Happy sales

Hey People are actualy reading this :)

A positive rant for a change!

It seems like some fine blokes have cought up on my rants about working together.

There is going to be a TGP trader circle to be set up and I have high expectations of that.

Kudo's to Dutch Harry and Kappi for taking a fucking great initiative to:

1. Build up a great network with a lot of traffic trading webmasters

2. Making an effort to create a place for traders where cheaters can be rooted out in the blink of an eye!

Myself, I am going to supply a ton of resources to support this initiative.

Well done! there's hope after all lol!

To be continued...........................

Fuck Parking

Posted by Head Boy

When I saw that Fuck Parking.com was unregistered, I had to grab it for my new porn parking service. It will be great to promote UK dogging to surfers on the front page, and to provide a nice memorable site to index all the parked domains.

I might even gets some traffic from motorists that are pissed off with parking problems.

Domains for Porn domain stripped off

Posted by Head Boy

I've stripped the adult domain Domains for Porn.com away from the blog, as the blog is struggling a bit to get interest at the moment. I'll use it as a feeder, and as the support site for the new porn domains sponsored parking service.

Porn site parking revenue

Posted by Head Boy

I've started to put together the structure for the adult site parking service that I'll be offering soon.

All you will need to do is to sign up and give me a list of domains. I'll host them and do all the site building for you in return for 50% of the revenue, and it will be real revenue - none of that pay per click stuff.

I'll be using the three obvious sponsors for testing, and will add more when things are running smoothly. It's not just enough for sponsors to be honest and have high converting sites, I need to be able to track the signups as well, so that I know who is earning the money. The initial list is on this page -

Pooped by pops

Posted by RicardoB

*Sigh* I just got off  ICQ having a discussion with a newbie webmaster about pop ups, exits and the likes.

It never fails to suprise me how they think.

"I don't want to use pop ups or any of that stuff cause I hated them as a surfer."

Well Duh! how many memberships did you buy as a surfer? 10 to 1 says a big fat ZERO!

Is it so hard to comprehend that the surfer is not your customer, also not your buddy, but a bandwidth consuming leech untill he buys something off your site?

The golden rule is treat your surfers like shit and your members like gold and it holds true!

So to get back on the topic of pop ups and exits, why do you think webmasters use them?

Because they make money plain and simple!

Last but not least as a test I made two versions of a page one with a shitload of ads on it, and one with no ads but a pop under console. I had a poll on a surfer forum and asked what they found more annoying. The ads page got the votes with a large 20% over the one with the pop under, so there you have it from the surfers themselves.

Bottom line pop ups, exits and pop unders work and you're a fool if you do not utilize them!

Buying domains for porn

Posted by Head Boy

Hunting for domains that you can use for your new porn sites can take up a lot of your time. Even when you find one, it's probably been out of the zone for a couple of months, and it could have lost all it's ranking and inbound links. Added to that, you've got to wait to get out of the search engine sandbox. You can avoid all that by buying a pre-registered name that's listed on the "Domains for Porn" blog.

It ain't fuckin rocket science!

Posted by RicardoB

It realy isn't. Making a living in adult on the web basically is a lot of copy and paste lol!

You make a site put traffic on it, and move on to the next.

Offcourse this is a simplified way to put it but it hold true to the concept of BSF.

Build, Submit, Forget that is :)

It comes down to finding something that works for you, and copying that a million times over.

I never get it why there are so many new webmasters complaining about how hard it is to make a sale and then when you ask em what they got, it turns out they run 1 or 2 sites total.

That is not gonna cut it, you need hunderds if not thousands. They don't have to be works of art, just plain simple pages, perhaps a tradescript on it and it's set. Ugly works! lol

Then there is that other type of webmaster, that reads up on all the boards, asks a shitload of questions, but never implements the knowledge. I don't get that either. Don't these webmasters realise that practise is the best way to learn?

Do what you read and find out what makes it tick.

And last NO FUCKING SHORTCUTS!

There simply are none. Wanna make the cash? do the fucking work. If all that effort spent on finding ways to skip the work, was put in the work that actualy needed getting done they would have made sales!

The moral to this story is equaly simple: Work your ass off now and you won't have to later.

Now how hard to understand is that?

To Old timers YES the game is changing fuckin deal with it!

Posted by RicardoB

Now that sounded harsh didn't it?

Wel, it's the truth, the game IS changing and only those that stay on top of it will florish.

Back in the 90's we built galleries, submitted our assess off and the cash came in. It was THAT simple.

When we built up a site we just put up a hotlinks page and added links of sites we swapped with.

Over time that site would then become a monster and what is called "established"

Then trading came into the game and things got automated(Remember the first CJ sites?).

These days the above ways no longer work unless you expect to make a profit 20 years or so down the line lol.

These days it is all about volume, volume and more volume. That's what the web has evolved into: a VOLUME business.

Does that mean setting up a site is now very expensive? Nope.

Does that mean setting up a site and grow it big is impossible? Nope.

The only thing it does mean is that you need a different approach to make it happen.

What you need are feeders(Small trade sites designed to funnel trafic to whatever you are trying to build) to send traffic to your site and tons of em.

No longer can you think I will make bank with a handful of sites, it simply won't happen. What you need are tons and tons of feeders sending a small ammount of traffic to whatever it is you want to build up. Doesn't mater if it's a paysite or a Hun like TGP that is the way to go if you want to enjoy the result in your lifetime lol.

So to all old timers whining and bitching how hard the bizz has become:

No it's not, just get with the fucking program and adapt to the rules of the new playing field :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I feel better now lol

Strenght comes in fucking numbers!

Posted by RicardoB

The above statement has been proven true on many occassions, yet the adult industry fails to comprehend the meaning of that one sentence.

If you doubt that statement just look at how the Acacia scheme went down where their so called patent shook up the industry yet most of the big dogs bailed and left the fighting to a select few.

Now this aside strenght still comes in numbers so I don't understand why we don't utilize that more.

For example take the Netpond Board this is one of the largest AWM boards online todat with thousands of members. They also have an excellent affilitate program called Netpond Cash and with those 2 combined I simply can not understand why webmasters haven't put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4.

If you can rally up a bunch of webmasters(Hint network on that board) and have them work together you can create a Tsunami size TGP to list the NPC galleries for board members only. a linklist for the same and more like this.

With a memberbase on the board in the thousands, this would be an instant jackpot for all involved:

The knowledge involved is there, we got gallery builders, gallery submitters, freesite builders and submitters, traffic traders and yours truly as a broker.

Imagine what we could do if we got organised.

What's in it for me you wonder?

Well that's a real no brainer:

By supporting those providing the program, board and tools you increase their revenue and that in turn they can use that to make things bigger and better, and not in small steps but by leaps and bounds.

You could be looking at higher payouts, more sites to promote, more and better promotion tools, the works.

That in turn would mean more money in your pocket and since the tools we could create ourselfs(A netpond TGP, A netpond LL, Toplist, and anything else you can think of) with enough webmasters behind it supporting it with traffic, entries and the works those sites would become real forces to be reckoned with.

I'm a firm believer in making the rules instead of following them, and IMO Netpond and specifically it's members have got the tools to make that happen at their fingertips.

Now all we need are a few blokes with the time to organise it,

Who's game? ;)

First rant!

Posted by RicardoB

Hiya!

Welcome to my blog!

As this one is intended to be about things that keep me thinking you can expect a lot of rants and ravings about traffic, design and specialy the way the adult web works at the moment.

I think there is a real shortage of webmasters thinking outside the box and being innovative.

Sure the web has been going steady for a decade or so but that doesn't mean you can come up with exiting new stuff still.

IMO there's to many webmasters walking the paved road to sales and not enough that say fuck it and start building their own paths to glory.

They say I have some weird ideas on how to do stuff and well, expect to find them here soon.

So if you're a webmaster bookmark this site, it's gonna be interesting!

Cheers for now, and TTYL!
